Types of Wounds
The SNaP™ Wound Care System received FDA clearance in August 2009. The FDA determined that the SNaP™ Wound Care System is indicated for patients who would benefit from a suction device particularly as the device may promote wound healing. The SNaP™ Wound Care System is indicated for the removal of small amounts of exudate from the following types of wounds:
3 Components
The SNaP™ Wound Care System is comprised of 3 components:
SNaP™ Wound Care Cartridge
The fully disposable SNaP™ Cartridge acts as the negative pressure source and exudate canister. It weighs less than 3 oz and has a 60 cc capacity. The SNaP™ Wound Care System Cartridge is powered by a patent-pending technology that maintains constant negative pressure in the chamber and is available in three preset negative pressure levels of 75 mmHg, 100 mmHg, and 125 mmHg.
SNaP™ Wound Care Dressing
The SNaP™ Wound Care System Dressing is comprised of a proprietary, thin hydrocolloid that provides a robust seal while protecting the patient’s periwound skin. It also includes an integrated check-valve that prevents reflux of exudate to the wound.
SNaP™ Wound Care Strap
The SNaP™ Wound Care System Strap comfortably and securely attaches the SNaP™ Wound Care System Cartridge to the leg for maximum patient mobility. The SNaP™ Wound Care System Strap is available in small, medium, and large sizes.
